Jaipur, Apr 12: Rajasthan High Court today directed the State government to frame the service rules for the food safety officers within three months.
The division bench of Justices KS Ahluwalia and Dinesh Chandra Somani order came during the hearing of a suo motu and other petitions on adulterated milk problem in the state.
The court found the qualifications of the present food safety officers below par. AAG Dharam Veer Tholia who appeared for the government informed the court that at present Multipurpose Workers(MPWs) Lab technicians and Ophthalmic assistants are employed in the department after imparting them special training food safety. However this has not satisfied the court.
The HC said the appointments to be made according to the Food Safety Act and directed the government frame rules as per the Act.
