Pineapple milk drink that was sold after expiry date at Aavin booth on court premises were destroyed by officials in Salem on Monday.
Officials of the Tamil Nadu Food Safety and Drug Administration Department seized and destroyed 27 packs of pineapple milk drink from the Aavin booth functioning on the court premises here on Monday. Based on tipoff, District Designated Officer T. Anuradha and food safety inspectors inspected the booth and found the packs that had manufacturing date of the product as October 31, 2015 with 120 days validity.
Samples taken
The booth was opened two months ago on the premises. All the 27 packs were destroyed and notice was served on the Aavin booth salesman.
Officials also took samples of badam powder, butter milk and standardised milk from the booth that would be sent to Government Food Laboratory in Udayapatti.
