New Delhi: Passengers travelling on Delhi Metro can now enjoy quality snacks and delicacies at reasonable rates with IRCTC opening its first set of food kiosks in the stations on green line this weekend.
Christened 'Food Track', these kiosks will offer light snacks like sandwich, samosa, burger, pizza, rolls to mini meals like rajma-chawal, chhole-chawal, kadi-chawal, etc.
The snacks will be served hot and packed, while mini meals will come served in microwave oven compatible sealed trays, an IRCTC official said. Each of these five food stalls is estimated to cater to over 5,000 commuters per day initially, he said.
The outlets will be opened at Paschim Vihar (East & West), Peera Garhi, Udyog Nagar and Surajmal Stadium stations. The official said only branded company food items and cooked items meeting Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points accreditation with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India will be sold through the kiosks.
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism and Corporation (IRCTC) has already signed an MoU with DMRC to operate food joints at 130 Delhi Metro stations in the capital. IRCTC, a Railway PSU, used to serve food on board trains till a few years back when the services were taken back by the Railways with the new Catering Policy. Since then, it has spread its wings running cafeteria and food courts in various government offices and educational institutes.
Some of the popular IRCTC food joints are in Shastri Bhawan, Udyog Bhawan, South Block, Writers’ Building (Kolkata), IIM Indore, Delhi University etc. It has entered into catering business with the corporate sector with its opening of an ultra-modern central kitchen at Noida where it produces around 10,000 meals a day which are served to various MNCs, BPOs, and educational institutes in and around the satellite city. Central Kitchens are also being planned in Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, the official said.

5. உணவினை பாதுகாப்பாக கொண்டு செல்ல போதுமான தார்ப்பாய்கள் தரமாகவும், அவை தரை தளத்திற்கும், குடிநீர் கேன்களை மேல் மூடுவதற்க்கும் ஏற்றவாறு இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
6. குடிநீரை பாதிக்காமல் கயிற்றுத்தடம் அல்லது அடையாளம் ஏற்படாமல் இருக்க “L” வடிவில் தடுப்பான்கள் வாகனத்தில் இருக்க வேண்டும்.
7. எளிதில் தீ பற்றக்கூடிய பொருட்கள் இருக்க கூடாது.
8. எடை குறைந்த குடிநீர் பாக்கெட்டுகள் மீது அதிக எடை உள்ள குடிநீர் கேண்களை அடுக்கக்கூடாது.
9. எல்லா வகை குடிநீர் கேண்களை பெட்டிகளில் நேரான முறையில் அடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.
10. தினசரி போக்குவரத்தின் போது எடுத்து செல்லும் குடிநீர் கேண்கள், பாட்டில்கள், பாக்கெட்டுகள் போன்றவற்றின் அளவு குறித்த தினசரி பதிவுகளுடன் பதிவேடு பராமரித்தல் வேண்டும்.
11. வாகனங்கள் போதிய காலமுறை இடைவெளியில் சுத்தம் செய்து, தொற்று நீக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டு, அதன் விவரங்கள் பதிவு செய்து பராமரித்தல் அவசியம்.
12. குடிநீரை எடுத்து செல்லும் பணியாளர்கள் பாதுகாப்பான குடிநீரின் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்து அடிப்படை கருத்துக்கள் தெரிந்து இருத்தல் அவசியம்.

63 staffers take ill after breakfast at company canteen

PUNE: As many as 63 employees of Hyundai Construction, a multinational construction equipment manufacturing firm based in Chakan, took ill after eating at the company's canteen early on Monday. They were rushed to a nearby private hospital and are likely to be discharged soon.

"The employees complained of vomiting, abdominal pain, dehydration and giddiness soon after eating poha at the company's canteen. They were rushed to our hospital around 9.30 am. One person is in ICU while the rest needed basic medical care. The condition of the man in ICU is stable. Most of them are likely to be discharged by evening," said Satyajeet Wadhavkar, chief medical officer of Pavana Hospital, located at Somatane Phata in Maval. The admitted people are in the 25 to 35 age group.

M S Thorat, sub-inspector of Chakan police station said, "Employees found two dead rats in the container in which poha was prepared. We have not yet registered a case. Our investigation is on."

Meanwhile, a team from the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), Pune, visited the company canteen and took statements of employees. "Our officials will send food samples to the lab," said FDA joint commissioner Shashikant Kekare.

The company's head of human resource Nandakishore Sharma told TOI, "Today, about 63 employees showed signs of uneasiness and complained of nausea due to unhygienic substance found in the breakfast. The affected employees were rushed to a hospital. All employees will be discharged by evening." The management of Hyundai Construction has terminated the services of the caterer. " Hyundai Construction Equipment India Pvt. Ltd. is committed to employees' good health, safety and a conducive work environment," he said.

மதுபாட்டிலில் கரப்பான் பூச்சி!

ரூ.5 கூடுதலாக கொடுத்து வாங்கினாலும், மதுபாட்டிலில் கரப்பான் பூச்சி கிடந்தது அதிர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது என்றார் கடலூரில் உள்ள மதுக்கடையில் பிராந்தி வாங்கிய இளைஞர்.

வேலூர் மாவட்டம் பேரணாம்பட்டைச் சேர்ந்தவர் காதர் (30). இவர் கடலூரில் தங்கி ஹோட்டலில் வேலைப் பார்த்து வருகிறார்.

இவர் செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை மதியம் கடலூர் பஸ் நிலையம் அருகே கடலூர் - சிதம்பரம் சாலையில் உள்ள டாஸ்மாக் கடையில் குவார்ட்டர் பிராந்தி பாட்டில் வாங்கியுள்ளார்.

பாட்டிலை பார்த்த அவர் அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்தார். மதுவில் கரப்பான் பூச்சி இறந்து கிடந்தது.

விற்பனையாளரிடம் காட்டினால் சமாதானம் செய்ய முயற்சிப்பர் என கருதி, செய்தியாளர்களை சந்தித்து மதுபாட்டிலை காட்டி விட்டு சென்றார்.  அப்போது அவர் கூறுகையில், "ரூ.70 குவாட்டர் பாட்டிலுக்கு ரூ.75 வாங்குகின்றனர். அதிலும் கரப்பான்பூச்சி கிடந்தது வேதனையை அளிக்கிறது' என்றார்.
