Officials of Food and Drug Administration examining the seized banned tobacco products during a raid in Erode on Friday.
Food Safety officials seized ten bundles of banned tobacco product from a parcel booking office in Town Station limits on Friday.
The package of chewable tobacco was a part of consignment sent in a van from Salem to a grocery shop in Erode.
The bundles were noticed while unloading.
Acting on information, police officials took possession of the bundles worth about Rs. 50,000 and handed them over to Food Safety Department officials.
No arrest has been made in this connection by the police.
