A local court has sentenced an ice-cream factory owner to imprisonment for six months and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on him on the charge of ice-creams not being found of standard quality. According to prosecution, an ice-cream sample was collected from the factory by the Food Safety Department and sent for examination to laboratory in 2011.
The sample was not found to be in accordance with prescribed standards. Justice Sachin Jain delivered the verdict yesterday.
