Food Safety officials seized stale chicken, meat, and fried rice stored in refrigerators in three restaurants in Nelpettai on Friday.
Designated Officer for Food Safety J. Suguna said that 20 kilos of meat and fried rice were seized. The raids were conducted in restaurants and marriage halls on East and West Veli streets, as instructed by the Collector to check mosquito-breeding sources in view of dengue threat. “We inspected 48 buildings. In four places in Nelpettai, our team found mosquito breeding sources,” Dr.Suguna said.
