Anganwadi supervisors were sensitised on maintaining safety and hygiene while preparing food for children aged up to 6 years at a workshop on ‘Food Safety and Standards Act’. The workshop was organised jointly by the office of the designated officer, Food Safety wing, and the Department of Women and Child Development on Friday.
District Malaria Officer Chidambar S. spoke about the Act and how to confirm the safety of food products supplied to the anganwadi centres.
ICDS medical officer Thibbe Gowda C.D. said cases of nutritional deficiencies among children aged up to 6 years had dropped substantially in the district.
