Health Department officials inspected bakeries here in view of the incidence of food poisoning following the consumption of snacks from a bakery here the other day.
The inspection followed the instruction of District Collector P. Bala Kiran here in the wake of the incidence of food poisoning among students of the C.H. Muhammad Koya Memorial Higher Secondary School at Valapattanam.
They reportedly showed symptoms of food poisoning after they had consumed the snacks supplied by a leading bakery unit here.
Hospitalised
Twenty-six students of the school had been hospitalised with the symptoms.
The Collector had already ordered the closure of the bakery.
The officials said that random inspections would be conducted in the bakeries to ensure that they strictly followed food safety measures.
