National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI), in collaboration with the ministry of tourism, is going to organise a six-day training programme at Ludhiana Circuit House from April 27 to May 2 ,for orientation, testing and certification of cooks' for the food vendors in the city.
The session would be held under the Swach Bharat Swach Pakwan programme. Food Craft Institute, Hoshiarpur, has been conducting these programme in past and till date, two such programmes have been conducted in Ludhiana. A total of 34 vendors and small traders will take part in this training programme. They were given training on personal hygiene, food safety, cleanliness and food preservation.
Tiger Singh, president, Ludhiana Rehri Fadi Federation (LRFF), said certificates will be distributed to the venders after the training session. "We have also organised such training sessions in Chandigarh and Bathinda recently. 90 vendors were trained in Chandigarh and 35 vendors were trained in Bathinda, he added.
