June 22, 2014 Ahead of presentation of Union Budget by the Central Government in the month of July, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), apex body of the business community of the Country is holding a two days National Meet of the trade leaders from all over the Country on 24th & 25th June, 2014 at New Delhi. Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Transport will be inaugurating the two days National meet on 24th June, 2014 at NDMC Convention Centre at New Delhi. The national meet is expected to be attended by more than 175 prominent trade leaders across the Country. The Two days national meet named as National Conference on Economic Issues is all set to discuss various core issues concerning retail trade and economy and the trade leaders will also decide their future strategy on all such issues.
CAIT National President Mr. B. C. Bhartia and Secretary General Mr. Praveen Khandelwal today said that the two daysnational conference will delibrate on various economic issues including FDI in multi brand retail, FDI in retail e commerce, Wholesale Cash & Carry format in retail trade being run by multinational companies, implementation of an early Goods & Services Tax (GST) regime, need of an alternate financial mechanism for small traders, Direct Tax Code, implications of various Free Trade Agreements (FTA) on domestic trade & commerce, formulation of a National Trade Policy for retail trade and a separate Ministry of Internal Trade, review of all Laws, Acts, Rules and Regulations governing internal trade of India, amendments in Companies Act, simplification and rationalization of tax structure and working of Commodity Exchanges in India.
The two days national meet will also discus review of Food Safety & Standards Act,2006 and its rules & regulations, role of trading community in urban development particularly in 100 smart cities declaration of the new Government, security of traders and commercial markets across the Country, review of working of Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Act and review of laws, rules & regulations governing trade & commerce in India.
Both Mr. Bhartia & Mr. Khandelwal also informed that beside trade leaders several retail trade and FTA experts,economists, financial analysts, banking experts, town planers and distinguished people from other sectors will also be attending the Conference in different business sessions during two days deliberations.
