Mouth-watering north and south Indian delicacies were on display at Centenary Hall in the city as part of the competition-cum-exhibition to create awareness about food safety, quality and nutrition. The competition was organised by the local MINDSET (Manifestation of Internal Development Skill Engrave Trust) in association with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on Sunday.
As many as 67 participants from rural and urban areas, took part. The items on display ranged from chats to ‘Sajje’ rotis, jowar rotis, brinjal curry, a variety of powders made using groundnut, Bengal gram, a variety of sweets, juices among other things. Parmeshwar Mathpati of FSSAI, explained the importance of consuming good quality and safe food.
Hoteliers, bakery owners, people who run roadside eateries, kirani merchants and also health conscious public attended.
