Shimla civic body launches raid on sweet shops to check adulterated sweets

Shimla: In order to check adulteration in sweets during festive season, Shimla Municipal Corporation authorities on Saturday raided a number of sweet shops located in Chhota Shimla, Kasumpti, Panthaghati, New Shimla and in new bus stand area and dumped about one quintal of sweets.
The SMC authorities have said that they would keep their drive during the entire festival season. During the festive season, adulterated sweets are sold in sweet shops.
