Two Food Business Operators; one from Kalighat, Diglipur and one from Billiground, Mayabunder were adjudicated for violation of various sections of Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006 by the Adjudicating Officer (District Magistrate), Mayabunder, N&M Andaman. A penalty of Rs.10,000/- was imposed on each Food Business Operator.
Also, three petty Food Business Operators were compounded and a penalty of Rs.1000/- was imposed on each by the Designated Officer (Food Safety), N&M Andaman for contraventions of different sections, rules and regulations of the Act. An amount of Rs.23,000/- in total was realized as fine from the offenders during the month of August.
Further, the Food Business Operators of the district have been advised to strictly abide by the Food Safety and Standards Act, Rules and Regulations made thereunder, and if anyone found violating, will be dealt as per law.
