BAKERY BRAND CLAIMS CLEAR OF HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES

While the food safety officers (FSOs) across the State have been instructed to collect the bread samples at earliest from their respective areas for evaluating the chemical contents present in the bread, one of the leading bakery products brand, Moreish Food Limited on Saturday came out with its own finding reports claiming that its products do not contain any element hazardous to health.
“After going though the reports, it is clear that Moreish breads are safe and absolutely fit for consumption. The company is not using any emulsifiers that contain chemicals that are hazardous for pubic health. We strongly adhere to highest level of food safety in our breads and other bakery products that the company produces,” said, company’s CEO S Ramchandran in a press meet.
“Looking at the safety of denizens and to maintain the quality, the company will also mention in the wrapper that the product is potassium bromate and potassium iodate free in all bakery products and breads. As the company adheres to stringent measures in all aspects of manufacturing,” added, Ramchandran.
The firm had has sent it bread samples to SGS Lab, accredited with Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) based in Kolkata.
The department of Health and Family Welfare has instructed all the food safety officers to collect the bread samples from grocery shops and retail stores. Officials are now awaiting the lab reports.
