Food safety officials inspected a milk dairy at Krishnampalayam on Tuesday and found discrepancies in dates printed on the plastic packets.
Designated Officer for Erode District, Food Safety and Drug Administration, G. Karunanidhi who led the inspection team said the dates printed on the plastic packets were not in consonance with the production schedule. On his instructions, milk samples have been taken for testing.
Food safety officials said they have been conducting inspections on milk dairies and checking loads moving out of district for conformity to safety standards. Action has been taken against three dairies for shortcomings, Mr. Karunanidhi said.
