Sale of Keram Drops Banned

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Commissionerate of Food Safety has banned the distribution, sale and storage of coconut oil of Keram Drops brand.
Earlier, it had banned 12 brands which were found adulterated.
The Commissioner for Food Safety said that the possession, sale or distribution of banned brands of coconut oils would invite a fine of Rs 2 lakh.
If anyone violates the directive of the Food Safety Commissionerate, they will have to face strict legal proceedings, including criminal prosecution.If these banned brands of coconut oils are found in the market, the public can inform the officials either through a toll free number 1800 425 1125 or through the phone numbers of Assistant Food Safety Commissioners in the respective districts or the research officers of the Food Safety Department.
