Kathua, Sep 24 : Food Safety Officer Urban Local Bodies Subash Raina conducted the inspections at various meat shops at Lakhanpur here today. During the inspection, he found that many of the meat shops were functioning from unhygienic premises and not maintaining any hygiene.
He said that he had already held a preliminary round of inspections time to time at various meat shops to impress upon them the need to put food safety first and market the meat product on the branding exercise.
He said that there is a great need of a slaughtering house in order to provide the hygienic condition for meat business and preparations so that a safe and protected stamped meat could be available in the market.
