The inspection team had issued notice to the hotels Arya Bhavan, KSRTC Canteen, Kaveri family restaurant, and Tharangam restaurant in the town for keeping inferior quality food items.
The Collector said Ananda Bhavan and Arya Bhavan had failed to display the price list approved by the district administration. The inspection team comprised of K.S. Savitri, Deputy Collector (Disaster Management); Gracy Ithaq, District Medical Officer; S. Kumari Prameela, District Supply Officer; and N. Rameshbabu, District Food Safety Officer.
The Collector held talks with the office-bearers of the Hotel and Restaurant Owners’ Association in the district on the directions of the Kerala High Court following the latter’s demand to review the rate of various food articles fixed by the former.
The District Supply Officer also attended the meeting.
