The Health Department issued notices to five food handlers for not possessing registration certificates today.
The District Health Officer (DHO), Shelly Jetly, served notices for violating the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA), 2006.
Dr Shelly said they would continue to issue notices to food handlers who violate the guidelines. The DHO collected seven food samples from various shops located on Patiala-Sirhind Road. The food samples included daal, tea, sugar, eggless mayonnaise, channa and wheat flour. The DHO said the samples would be sent to the state laboratory
