CHANDIGARH: Kapurthala district food safety team recovered misleading packaging of boneless chicken breast. Food safety commissioner K S Pannu shared that during an early morning check, a team intercepted a vehicle (registration No. PB 02 CR 3834) carrying food articles from Perfect Poultry Products Pvt Ltd, Ajnala Road, Amritsar.
The vehicle from Amritsar en route to Ludhiana was intercepted at Dhilwan containing frozen boneless chicken breast in packing of 2 kg each. The net content was about 1,740 kg, bearing label as manufactured and packed by Meat Masters, Baba Deep Singh Nagar, Village Dugri, Ludhiana. The manufacturer and buyer of the product were the same as per label of packets and the invoice, which is a clear indication that some kind of mislabelling to befool the customers was intended, said Pannu.
