Mangaluru: National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration of Laboratories (NABL) has accredited Mangalore Biotech Laboratory (MBL) with ISO17025 standard for analysis of food and water for biological and chemical parameters. Currently there are less than 10 such NABL accredited laboratories in the state for analysis of food and water and these are in Bengaluru and Mysuru, P Tauro, founder director of Mangalore Biotech Laboratory said.
With companies such as Infosys, MCF, BASF, KIOCL availing services of MBL, this is mainly on account of establishment of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), he said.
