The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a notification extending the last date for obtaining licence or registration by Food Business Operators (FBOs) under the Food Safety and Standards Act to August 4, 2014. The prior deadline fixed by the FSSAI for the same had expired on February 4.
All FBOs, including food manufacturers, packers, wholesalers, distributors, sellers, food importers, hotels, restaurants, clubs, canteens, caterers, food transporters, food storage establishments, and all food processing units, who have not obtained FSSA licence/ registration till now should make use of the extended timeline and secure the licence.
