Indore, Mar 27 (PTI) Protesting against the Centre's move to strictly implement Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, thousands of sweets and namkeen traders today observed a half-day bandh in the city. Over six thousands traders affiliated to Namkeen and Mithai Vikreta Kalayan Maha Sangh staged a demonstration at Sanjay Setu causing traffic jam for couple of hours in the heart of the city. "We do respect Indian laws but the new rules would cause harassment to the small traders," Sangh President Ramprasad Sharma told PTI.
"Under the new norms, traders will have to determine and print the nutritional value of every product, a provision small traders will find difficult to comply with. This would encourage inspector-raj," he said. The Food Safety and Standard Authority of India has laid down science-based standards for food items and regulate their manufacturer, storage, distribution, sale and import to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption.
The Act aims to ensure prevention of fraudulent, deceptive or unfair trade practices which may mislead or harm the consumer.

ReplyDeleteI would like to draw your kind attention, that lot of misunderstanding is in between the traders doing their business in very small scale if reasonable step will not be taken for small scale businessmen (Traders) or manufacturer of Namkeen & sweet manufacturer ,
Is it necessary that a Trader doing business of NAMKEEN in loose or giving printed packets of his name , print the nutritional value of every product is not possible to give the details of every product.
Suppose U are purchasing 500 gm. Ladoo or burfee or rasgulla or rasmallai in loose,Its necessary that he will pack that product, do U think that on the each packet (For Sweet ,Box generally they give) the fat or ingredient s they provide U best before
Selling 5 to 10 Rs product of Namkeens in loose or 250 gm or .500gms. Worth 30/ or 60/ Rs and provide its fats not possible at all.Because small business men is selling in loose or printed packets giving common ingredients for all products (100 to 150 items) as he need to keep variety in shop to attract customer.
INDORE IS FAMOUS FOR NAMKEEN AND SWEETS IN INDIA AS WELL AS WORLD CLASS NAMKEEN PRODUCT IN THE WORLD,AND MORE THEN 5000 THOUSAND LABOUR ( LABOUR FROM RAJASTHAN ) THEY ARE MANUFACTURING NAMKEEN PRODUCT IN THEIR HOME AND SUPPLYING MORE THEN 50 to 60000 TRADERS .AND FOR THEM IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO GO TO OFFICE FOR REGISTRATION AS THEY ARE UNEDUCATED AND FORMS AND OTHER DETAILS REGARDING LICENSING IS IN ENGLISH WHICH THEY DO"NT NO.EVEN HINDI READING IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR THEM AS THEY ARE ANGOOTHA CHAAP.
SO IT IS A SUGGESTION TO VISIT WARD BY WARD HAVING CAMPS IN THEIR AREA FOR ISSUING FSSAI LICENSE IN EASY WAY. NO ONE IS DENYING FOR SUCH RULES REGULATION WHICH IS POSSIBLE TO FOLLOW. TRY TO UNDERSTAND THEIR PROBLEMS AND SHORT OUT IT BECAUSE THE NUTRATION VALUE CAN NOT BE MAINTAIN FOR THE PRODUCT AS IT IS ALWAYS DUE TO TO CHANGE OF WATER OR THE RAW PRODUCTS.
If lininancy will not be given for small business men then nothing but close the businessmen and unemployment occurs which may cause of Unemployment or wrongly effects for govt. policies.

NOTE :---ADVISE IS THAT .......
1) MORE THEN 95% BUSINESSMEN CAN NOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH . IT WILL BE BETTER TO GIVE SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE ABOUT FSSAI IN HINDI the norms of FSSAI for small scale manufacturer or Traders.
2)RETAILERS UNDER 12(Twelve) lacks sale of per anum should be exempted from packaging rules regulations as MP govt gives relief in sales tax for business men doing less then 10lacks per anum need not go for sales-tax registration.
Sir,
we appreciate the policy made by govt.for security and slandered of food products.
Taking license is no problem, but to print all the packages for every
product in NAMKEEN or sweet to a small businessman who do the sale for rs.
1000/ or 1500/ daily investing 25000/ in business.and earning 10000/ per month.
If as per your norms and rules regulation if he prints the packages for that he
need at least 2 to 5 lacks investment, which is not possible to invest
for him. In Indore more then 50000 shops or 1 lack venders are there who are
unable to invest.
In this case they are bound to close there business doing from so many
years that create UN EMPLOYMENT.
PLEASE CONSIDER THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY AS NOT ONLY NAMKEEN BUSINESS ALL
OTHER SMALL BUSINESS PERSONS WILL SUFFER FROM THIS LAW.
